Primitive Souls is re-opening in the quaint little village of Gold Hill, NC ! The booths will remain open in The Depot @ Gibson Mill in Concord, NC ….but I plan to carry a larger variety of primitive, country and colonial goods/home decor/gifts at the new location in Gold Hill.
Beginning in September, (not sure of the exact date yet) I will be in the old building that was once the Gold Hill Post Office, as well as a shoe store in the early days. It’s right on the main street, 835 St. Stephens Church Road, Gold Hill, NC 28071, across from The Stamp Mill Café.
Never been to Gold Hill?? Gold Hill is where gold was first discovered in NC in 1843. It is now a simple little country village that I think people yearn for with today’s busy, hectic and chaotic lifestyles.
It’s a great place to spend a day or a week end. The village offers a little shopping, the Café offers good food at a fair price…and just down the street is the Park where you can see the history of an old mining town. Photographers come from miles around for the beautiful, scenic North Carolina countryside to use as their backdrop…. And brides use the wedding facilities for that “Rustic meets Elegance” theme….There’s the Helms Cottage to rent for a night or a week end….sit on the porch and listen to the frogs and crickets….bet you don’t get that in the city! On Friday & Saturday nights you can listen to the live Bluegrass music coming from the Café and from The Montgomery General Store. Sit back, get yourself a cold bottled drink, some ice cream or baked goods and just rest, relax and enjoy a little simplicity from the past.
