Spring Time is BUILDING Time!!!

Independence Day 2012

What does Independence Day mean to you?  When I was young, it mean a celebration, lots of food, fun and fireworks!  But today, I’m older and hopefully a little wiser and Independence Day means much more.  It makes me think of the hard work and commitment it took from our forefathers…..the lives that were lost in the process of fighting for the freedom we wanted.  I guess since I’m older, I pay more attention to politics and government…..it’s not all just talk anymore….the talk and actions of our elected officials REALLY DO directly or indirectly effect me, my family, my friends and our Country.   We’ve gotten away from the original values that were once the basis of our America…seems like no one wants to give thanks to God anymore or publicly pray for His guidance and protection for our great Country.  I think we should get back to the simple basics for which this great nation was founded.   Truth, honor, justice, compassion….where have they gone?

We have been BUSY building the past couple of days!  We've taken some things to The Depot.....and we have a tall cupboard getting ready to go this week!

Be sure to check out our ever-changing booths at both The Depot @ Gibson Mills in Concord, NC and in The Just Plain Country Antique Mall in downtown Walnut Cove, NC!

Primitive Souls has opened up at The Just Plain Country Store in Walnut Cove, NC!   Come by and see this wonderful little store full of different vendors and merchandise!  Walnut Cove is such a charming little town, out in the “country”…..you will just love it!

Owned and managed by Kathy Dix....her slogan is "If Granny had it....We got it"!  There are homemade baked goods brought in by a local baker, handmade items by local artists, antiques and collectibles.  Housed in the old Neal Hardware store on the corner....and it used to be a mortuary...just ask Kathy to tell you some of her "strange experiences"!   Other little shops to visit and quaint places to dine!

   Kissing the Face of God
A mother's love is illustrated here by Mary, giving baby Jesus a tender kiss on His cheek.  I love the artwork of Morgan Weistling

The photo below on the right is my sweet Mama in 1928.  Please pray for her...she has dementia and is not doing very well.  Thank You
